Where: Edinburgh – London
Distance: Zero (well not including the train trip!)
Weather: Overcast/Cold
Mood: Relaxed
Highlight: Scottish National Museum
Today we snuck in a visit to the Scottish National Museum before departing Edinburgh. We also got a tip that they have good coffee at the museum cafe (we weren’t disappointed!)
We have thoroughly enjoyed Edinburgh and both our hosts, Patrick and Chee at our AirBnB accommodation were a pleasure and provided great assistance in helping us with maximising our visit and recommendations on where to eat.
Now seated in the “Flying Scotsman” we watch with mixed emotions the countryside we have ridden along wiz past at some phenomenal speed which just doesn’t compute after spending days riding it! We will also cross the Coast to Coast route on the journey south back to London where our adventure 4 weeks ago all began.
We will be departing London tomorrow with a short stopover in Brunei before the final leg home to Melbourne.
To all those dedicated followers, we trust you have enjoyed following our blog and thanks for those that have posted comments and encouragement. We really appreciate it. Apologies we couldn’t respond to all of them! We were lucky at times just to have enough energy to put up the daily post.
Until the next adventure. Buen Camino!

Departed: Kelso
Destination: Inerliethen
Distance: 52km
Weather: Overcast/Cold
Mood: Happy and Content
Highlight: Countryside
The wind was kind to us today and whilst there was a stiff breeze as we headed off, within a few hours this had abated. We departed Kelso by circumnavigating Floors Castle. Another lived in Castle by another Duke and much larger than anything we had seen. We clocked about 5km as we skirted the high stone wall surrounding the Castle and its gardens, but we were out of time to wait for opening hours for a full visit. Read more
