Today was a travel day. We drove the hire car from Chipping Norton to Carlisle at the very top of England where we ditched the car and caught the last train out from Carlisle to St Bees. We hadn’t realised that the last train departed at 5:30pm and were lucky we didn’t do any serious sight seeing along the way or we would have been in a royal pickle! Read more
We enjoyed a touch of luxury both with a much appreciated hot shower and a deep sleep on a very comfortable bed that felt like we were floating on clouds topped off with a full English breakfast the next morning in a light filled dining room. Read more
Time to say a sad goodbye to London and hello Bath! We were on the 9am train from Paddington to Bath and took the more adventurous route of walking across Kensington Park with all our gear to arrive at Paddington Station in plenty of time before our scheduled departure. Read more
Our last full day in London and we have only scratched the surface! Keen not to miss anything, we ramped it up a notch and planned the London Finalé down to the minute. Read more
Today saw an early start with us off to Paddington Station and onto Windsor Castle. Wow! This is an impressively big castle and very imposing from its elevated position. Read more
