Chateau de Chillon

On our list of sightseeing visits on Lake Geneva was a trip to the Chateau de Chillon, a castle built on the edge of lake Geneva.

To get there we decided on taking a boat along the coast of lake Geneva from Lausanne all the way to the Chateau. This was a picturesque 2hr trip and it stopped at a number of ports along the way until reaching the Chateau Chillon

We spent a good couple of hours exploring the castle’s rich history with it dating back as far as the 1100 century. It was then a very pleasant stroll along the lakeside to the town of Montreaux where we caught a train back to Lausanne to collect our luggage and make the final leg back to Geneva completing our 3 week circuit from where we had started.

We have only a day to explore Geneva before heading back home later tomorrow! So we will sign off on this trip and start planning for the next. Where to? No idea at this stage, but there are plenty of places on the list. Thanks again everyone for following and for your encouragement or other via the comments.
